Holiday Arrangement for Friday 8 May 2020
Due to Covid-19, most of our Council Buildings and Facilities including leisure centres, recycling centres and civic centres remain closed. For details click here. Births: There will be no registration of births on Friday 8 May. These can be arranged by appointment E. registrar@antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk Marriages: All marriage services are suspended until further notice due to Covid-19. Registration of Deaths*: Via T. 028 9034 0179 on Friday 8 May, 8.30-10am. Booking of Burials: Via T. 028 9034 0080 on Friday 8 May & Saturday 9 May 8:30-10am Cemeteries operation: Friday 8 May – Last burial time in all cemeteries: 11am. * COVID 19 - Revised Death Registration Process We will be providing a death registration service during the times stated. The Medical Cause of Death Certificate (MCCD) will be emailed from GRO and a member of the Registration team will contact the next of kin to obtain the information required to complete the registration. This is to allow us to issue the GRO 21 for Burial or Cremation.

Friday 8 May & Saturday 9 May: O’Neill Road and Newpark Recycling Centres by appointment only – open from 9am until 8pm. Residents can make appointments through the Live Chat button on the home page of Council’s website. This will be operational from 9am to 8pm. Alternatively, residents can book online. Please note proof of residence in the Borough required. From Monday 11 May: All five Recycling Centres will be open with entry by appointment only. Proof of residence in the Borough required and residents will have to report to the relevant holding point for each of the Centres in order to prevent traffic congestion in the surrounding areas and maintain social distancing on site. At this point Centres will only be able to accept a limited range of materials.
